Regaining Financial Aid Eligibility
Pell Overpayment

Defaulted on Student Loans
- If you defaulted on any of your federal student loans, you will need to contact your loan servicer(s) to discuss options to get out of default to regain financial aid eligibility.
Reaffirmation of Student Loans
- If you mistakenly received federal student loan funds under the Direct Loan Program or the Federal Family Education Loan Program in excess of your borrowing limit, you are ineligible for additional federal student aid unless you repay the excess loan amount in full, or agree to repay the excess loan amount in accordance with the terms of the promissory note that you signed. Agreeing to repay the excess loan amount in accordance with the terms of the promissory note is called “reaffirmation.” You can reaffirm an excess loan amount by signing a reaffirmation agreement obtain by your loan servicer.
